Hi Stampin' Friends

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.  For me, it's so nice to be home and relaxing.  It was a whirlwind 2 1/2 weeks in California and I am enjoying the peace and quiet back home.

Today's card features the Hostess Stamp Set called Simply Sketched.  I'm also using the new Ginger Garden Designer Series Paper for the background.

I love the blue and yellow combination - it just screams Spring!  

The ladies will be making this card at the Big Shot class on Wednesday, 29 May 2013.  I have one opening left if you live in the Bella Vista, AR area and would like to attend.  Just let me know and I'll send you all the information.

They will learn how to make the roses shown on the card using a die cut (non-SU).  I was going to add a ruffled bow right under the roses on the left but I didn't want to make it too complicated or difficult because two of the ladies are beginners and I would not want to scare them away (LOL). 

The sentiment is from the hostess stamp set, Simply Sketched, and is available with a qualifying order.  Though it is not very clear in the picture, I put the bottom strip of DSP through the Big Shot using the Delicate Designs Embossing Folder and then die cut using the Large Scallops Edgelits Die.

More Amore and a surprise for Tina!

Finally received my camera memory card so I'm back in business!  Today's card using the More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper from the Spring Catalog.

The digital image is from the PS I Love You Stamp Brush Set.  I love the cupid image in this set and because it is digital you can make the it as big or as small as you want.

I used the Labels Collection Framelits to die cut the image and then sponged it with Early Espresso Ink.  The large heart was die cut using the Hearts Collection Framelites and embossed with the Perfect Polka Embossing Folder.  The smaller hearts are die cut from the Fashionable Hearts Embosslits.  The tag was made using the Two Tags Bigz Die and embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.

The strip of card stock over the More Amore Speciality Designer Series Paper was made using the MDS2 and the Presto Pattern Overlays Stamp Brush Set.  I'm glad I'm able to make a background using the script pattern since the Script Background Stamp is retired.

A Cardinal Christmas

I thought I was finished making Christmas cards but when I bought a gift for my BFF Jane, I wanted to make a card that matched the gift bag.

And I thought the Cardinal Christmas Stamp Brush Set was the perfect match.  I have the digital download so it's not considered retired - I am so glad because the cardinal is one of my favorite birds and we have a lot of them in this area.

I was able to color in the image with Cherry Cobbler for the cardinal and berries and Old Olive for the leaves. The image was then printed on Very Vanilla Card Stock.  One of the updates to the My Digital Studio is the coloring tool and it's awesome!  Did you know that you can still get the My Digital Studio on a 30 day trial basis?  Check it out!

I reduced the image and printed it out for the inside of the card.

 I used the new Needlepoint Embossing Folder for both the panel on the front and the layer on the inside of the card.

A Card for Anna - Sneak Peek

Hi Stampin' Friends

Today's card is for my sister-in-law, Anna, who is going through chemo right now.  I wanted to give a beautiful lady a beautiful card!

I used the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper from the Spring Catalog.  This DSP is absolutely beautiful and "just my cup of tea"!  I love the shabby chic look of it.  Please note:  Stampin' Up! has added the coordinating color card stock to the back of each package.  We've been asking for this for a couple of years and they finally delivered!  WHOOOHOOO!

I also used the Needlepoint Border Embossing Folder from the Spring Catalog on a strip of Lucky Limeade Card Stock.  I added the new 5/8" Flower Trim from the same catalog.  The vintage dimensional flowers are gorgeous! 

Anna's name was printed on Very Vanilla Card Stock using My Digital Studio 2.  I then stamped the frame in Lucky Limeade - it's from the Four Frames Clear Mount Stamp Set.  It was punched out using the Decorative Label Punch.

I also embossed the inside of the card using the Needlepoint Border Embossing Folder on Very Vanilla Card Stock.

Sneak Peek - Feeling Sentimental

Hi Stampin' Friends

When I first saw the Feeling Sentimental Stamp Set from the Sale-a-bration Brochure, I knew I had to get it.  I love the vintage look of all three images especially the Ferris Wheel.  It brought back memories of when I was about 6 or 7 (I think) and I was riding the Ferris Wheel with my Grandfather.  Something was wrong with it and we were stuck at the top for several hours.  I don't remember much about it except for the fact that I was so cold and afraid!  If my grandfather was alive, I would send him this card but he has been gone now for about 40 years.

Even though I have the Word Play Clear Mount Stamp Set, I used the MDS2 and Word Play Stamp Brush Set to print out the sentiment.  I reduced it so that it would fit inside the oval.

The background DSP is the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack from the Spring Catalog.  I die cut the Ovals using the new Ovals Collection Framelits Dies (WHOOOHOOO, we finally have oval die cuts!).

The picture above gives you a small glimpse into one of July's projects. This card is beautiful and features new and old Stampin' Up! products.  It is ONLY one sample of what is to come. There are two more projects included in next month's virtual club  They are unique and are sure to dazzle all who see the beautiful projects you have created.

As you can probably guess, the card is shabby chic but don't worry, I'll be featuring different styles every month.

Creative Elements

Hi Stampin' Friends

Hope you had a wonderful weekend - I know that I did.  The weather was just gorgeous and it was so nice to be outside!

 
Because we are retired, we are able to enjoy our first cup of coffee on our deck.  I love, love the view - it's so quiet and peaceful.  And here's DD - she's going to be 1 year old on 23 June 2012.  If you want to read the story of how I found DD, click here

Today's 3D project is for the Thursday night class at Linda's house.  The ladies will be making a card and a birdhouse made from the Mini Milk Carton Bigz Die .   With Spring almost over and Summer almost here, I thought it was time for some bird houses!

I used the new Natural Composition Specialty Designer Series Paper for the body of the bird house.  The roof was made from the Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper.  I used the Bird Builder Punch to make the bird using the new in-color Summer Starfruit Card Stock.

Sneak Peek - Oval Accents

Hi Stampin' Friends

Today's card showcases one of the new dies in the 2012/2013 Catalog called Bigz Clear Oval Accent  Die.   It coordinates with the new Forever with You Stamp Set (page 132 of the new catalog).

Like the framelits dies, it's clear so you can see where you are placing the die on the card stock.  For the background, I used the Everyday Enchante DSP from the Sale-a-bration Catalog with Poppy Parade Card Stock as the base card.   I love the Everyday Enchante DSP and so sorry it didn't make it into the big catalog like the Twitterpate DSP did (which I don't like!).  Though I think anything in the SAB catalog does not normally make it into the big catalog.

The rose is a retired Very Vanilla Accessory which was dyed using Poppy Parade Classic Reinker.  The Organdy ribbon is Calypso Coral also from the SAB catalog. 

Someone asked me recently how I dyed my ribbons.  I just mix reinkers and water in a small container and soak the ribbon until it's the color I want.  This morning I tried to color (with Poppy Parade) the rose, a small flower made from very vanilla satin ribbon and a small flower made from the Victoria Crochet Trim.  Below are the results:

Sneak Peek - Layered Labels and Comfort Cafe DSP

I am so excited to be able to show you some gorgeous new designer series paper called Comfort Cafe.  It is absolutely beautiful and reminds me of my grandmother!

I am also working on 3D project (Petite Purse Bigz L Die) that goes with the card, but I didn't finish it in time for today's post.  I'll have it ready for tomorrow's post.

The sentiment is layered with Crazy Cajun Card Stock and Soft Suede Card Stock. 

I used the Apothecary Accents Die (you are going to love these new dies!).  They coordinate with the Layered Labels Stamp Set.

All the layered are the same size.  I cut the Crazy Cajun and Soft Suede card stock label in half and the layered them so that it showed on the top and bottom (does that make sense?).  

I colored the Daffodil Delight Taffeta ribbon with the Cajun Craze Reinker.  The crochet trim is our Victoria 5/8 Crochet Trim that's been cut in half (up the middle) for a shabby chic look.

The rose is non-SU and part of my hidden treasures that I rediscovered during my move!  They are so cute that I don't want to get rid of them and will continue to use them even though they are not SU!

Celebrating my birthday one day early with my BFF Jane which why I didn't get my 3d project completed!

Layered Labels

Hi Stampin' Friends

I am so excited to give you a sneak peek at one of the new stamp sets from the 2012/2012 Catalog!  It's called Layered Labels.  And no I did not have to cut it out because there is a corresponding package of dies called Framelits, Apothecary Accents.    The dies in this group were designed to cut images from World Treasures (another new stamp set) and the Layered Labels Stamp Set- WHOOHOOO!

This card is for my Mom who died in 1997.  Though she has been gone for about 15 years, I still think of her every day.  She did not have a good life but she raised us the best way she knew how, and let's face it, I was not the perfect child!  Happy Mother's day, Mom, I love you!

I used all Stampin' Up! products except for the pearls.   The sentiment was printed out in Crazy Cajun on the My Digital Studio and using the Edwardian Script ITC Font.

I used the Tulips Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background and added Victorian  5/8" Trim Crochet Trim at the botton of the card.

I'll have the blog candy information up on my blog tomorrow.  I was trying to decide what to give and decided to give a mish mash of things - you'll like it!

Tea Shoppe - Sneak Peek

I really should be making more Christmas cards  but I can't stop playing with my new toys!  This new stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog is called Tea Shoppe.

I wish you could see all the charming images in this set but you should be getting your Occasions Mini Catalog in the mail (perhaps next week?) and you can turn to page 19 to see this beautiful stamp set. 

I paired the set with the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper available in the Sale-a-Bration Catalog (page 7).

I used the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack to make the flowers.  The pearls are from the Basic Pearls Set.  The flowers were embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.

Bordering on Romance - Sneak Peek

These color seem to pop right off the Whisper White Card Stock.  I'm using the new Bordering on Romance Stamp Set from the Occasions Mini Catalogfor today's card.  It's part of the bundle I receive FREE because of my title!  I love Stampin' Up!

The bottomo of the card was made using the Adoring Accents Embossing Folders also new and in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  After I embossed the bottom, I cut it along the embossed border with Paper Snips.  There is the new Adoring Accents Edgelits Die which would have done the same thing but I don't own it yet!  The dotted line is part of the Bordering on Romance Stamp Set.

Rue Des Fleurs - sneak peek

Hi Stampers

My goodies arrived at 6 pm tonight and I literally tore the box open to get at the stamp sets and especially the DSP.  The Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper is absolutely beautiful (see below)!

The image is from the gorgeous new stamp set Rue Des Fleurs from the Occasions Mini.  The sentiment is from the same set.   I didn't know where to put the sentiment so I left it off and perhaps it will go inside the card - don't know yet.  I'm also using the new Framelits Dies (Labels Connection). 

You will definitely need the Big Shot for all the new items in the Occasions Mini and if you are a newsletter subscriber, there is a special in the next issue concerning the Big Shot just for you.  Not too late to sign up! (See left sidebar)

Stampin' Up! Sizzlits Paper Doily Sneak Peek

Just had to show you a sneak peek at  a new sizzlits die coming out in January (release of Occasions Mini Catalog).  It is "to die for"!!!

Incredible definition and stunning results!  Today's post shares a sneak peek at the Large Paper Doily Sizzlits Die, which will be available when the Occasions Mini Catalog is released Jan. 4, 2012. I was fortunate as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator to receive it as a gift at Founder's Circle.  At 4" in diameter, this doily will actually work with a saucer and teacup!  However, I'm totally digging a variety of uses in papercrafting!

Here's a peek at tomorrow's card!  Also, I'm working on several other cards so that I can post them before I leave for California.

Faith in Nature - sneak peek

This is one of the hostess stamp sets which we (demonstrators) are able to purchase as a pre-order from the 2011/2012 Idea Book & Catalog.  I Love the three images in the Faith in Nature Stamp Set.  It contains a leaf, flower and pearl - all simply beautiful.  It was hard for me to only choose two of the hostess sets from all that are available for purchase until 30 June 2011 but I decided on one floral set and one sentiment set.

 
I stamped the image with Versamark on Watercolor Paper, applied Black Embossing Powder and set it with the Heat Tool.  I colored in the flower image with the  Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write Marker and an Aqua Painter and colored in the stem with the Pear Pizzazz Stampin' Write Marker.   I lightly shaded around the flower with the Baja Breeze Classic Stampin' Writer and an Aqua Painter.  Using markers and an aqua painter is one of my favorite ways to watercolor. 

I added a strip of Daffodil Delight Card Stock that was punched out using the new Lace Ribbon Border Punch and attached it to the left side of the main image.  The Victoria 5/8 Crochet Trim and Daffodil Delight 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon  around the front of the base card completed the look. 

The base card (Baja Breeze Card Stock) was embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine.

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  The weather in this area has been absolutely beautiful - I love this time of the year.

 
I love the shape of of this sentiment.  It's from the stamp set My Friend and it was one of the new sets we were able to preorder from the new 2011/2012 Idea Book & Catalog as demonstrators.  I think this will turn out to be one of my favorite sets.

 

The sentiment is stamped with Pear Pizzazz Classic ink on Whisper White Card Stock.  The roses are from the Baby Blossoms Stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  They were stamped on Whisper White Card Stock with Blushing Bride Classic Ink, cut out with Paper Snips and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.  The leaves were stamped with Pear Pizzazz on Whisper White Card Stock and also cut out with Paper Snips.

Did you notice the new border punch?  It's called Lace Ribbon Border Punch and it's in the new catalog.  I absolutely love it!  The dsp is from the In-Color Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack and if you like it, you should purchase it before 1 July 2011 since it will increase in price by about $2.00.

Fabulous Florets

By now you've probably seen so many beautiful cards made with the gorgeous Fabulous Florets Stamp Set available 1 May 2011 in the upcoming Summer Mini Catalog.  I thought I would try something a little different and combine the two new Stampin' Emboss Powders on the solid flower image from that stamp set.

 
Rachel's Tips:

To create the multi-color look to the flowers, I first stamped the image 3 times on Whisper White Card Stock with VersaMark.

I then sprinkled Tangerine Tango and Melon Mambo Stampin' Emboss Power on each flower letting the colors over lap a little.  The Melon Mambo was mostly on the outside with the Tangerine Tango on the inside.  Set with the Heat Tool.

The flower images were cut out using paper snips.  The leaves were die cut using the Little Leaves Sizzlits Die and the Big Shot.    

I love the look of the scrunched up ribbon that is so popular right now.

The pattern paper is from the new Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper.  This paper is full of vibrant colors and beautiful flowers.
