Here's another sneak peek at my girlfriend's anniversary card!  I started this card several times because I kept messing up.  One time I had completed the card and then when I added my personal stamp to the back of the card, I smeared the ink.  Anyway, after several attempts the card is on its way to California.

I love the way it came out and cannot wait until I can show it to you tomorrow.

Dazzling Googly Ghosts & Blog Candy Winner

It's like I just discovered Halloween!  I usually don't make too many Halloween cards, but I have another one for you today!

The ghosts were made with the Owl Punch.  I've seen this idea several places in blogland.  Punch out the owls, snipped off the legs and turned them upside down.  And Voila! you have ghosts. I added Dazzling Diamonds to give them sparkle. 

I don't think you can see it in the picture but they just dazzle!  I added Googlies for the eyes and 1/8" punch for the mouth.

I used the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets for the glitter.  Since the sheets have adhesive on both sides, I added Whisper White Card Stock to one side and punch it out with the Owl Punch.  I then stripped off the other side to expose the adhesive.  I added the Dazzling Diamonds and tapped it lightly to take off the excess glitter.

The Boo is from the Googly Ghouls (love that set!) which was punched out using the Modern Label Punch.  The DSP is the Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Catalog.

Monster Mash

When I saw this card by Connie Babbert on SUDSOL, I had to copy it!  Well, not exactly copy but I was very inspired by it and made my version of the card. And I have the perfect song to accompany it.  It's Monster Mash from the 60's and I can still see my friends dancing to it at parties.

Colorful Frightening Feline

I had so much fun coloring the words on the cat from Frightening Feline Stamp Brush Set.  This is possible with the MDS 2.  And if you want to try it out, you can for 30 days!  You don't even have to put a CC on file.  Click here to get your copy and We'll learn it together!

I used the coloring tool to color in the cat in Basic Black, Lucky Limeade and Tangerine Tango.  The sentiment is from All The Holidays Stamp Brush Set. 

The pattern paper is the Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Series Paper (love that name!).  I embossed the base card using the Spider Web Embossing Folder.  Though you can barely see the ribbon, I used the Basic Black Scalloped Dots Ribbon .

Toxic Treats Deux

I'm using the Toxic Treat Stamp Set again (Love this set!) for today's card.  I wish I could show you the images in the stamp set to show how cute they are!  But you either have the catalog by now or you can see it online on 1 August 2012.

The image was colored in using Basic Black, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Markers.  The button is from the Brights Designer Buttons Collection and the Tulle fabric is non SU.   I just cut a strip and tied it around the front of the card.  The ribbon through the button is the Basic Black 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon.

The background was embossed using the Spider Web Embossing Folder and it was layered over Basic Black Card Stock.

Sneak Peek - Toxic Treats

Today's post features a 3D Halloween project.  I know I should make more of them but I love making cards and that's what I find myself making all the time.

I used the Toxic Treats Stamp Set and the Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP (I love that name!) from the Holiday Catalog.    The project was inspired by the one shown on page 24 of the Holiday Catalog.

Since it didn't photograph clearly (see photo above), I put a piece of white paper behind the stamp image.

The image was stamped on our Window Sheets with Basic Black Craft Ink and then embossed with Black Stampin' Emboss Powder.  It was set using our new Heat Tool.  Have you tried the new Heat Tool?  I love that it has two settings (low for drying ink and high for heat-setting powder).

Googly Ghouls - sneak peek

These guys are the cutest things!  The image is from the new Googly Ghouls Stamp Set in the Holiday Catalog that goes live on 1 August 2012.   You should be getting your copy of the Holiday Catalog the last week in July if you are a customer of mine.  They are being sent directly to your home from Stampin' Up!  New in the catalog is the Googlies (eyes) for these little creatures!  It comes in a sheet of 50 adhesive-backed google eyes for ease in mounting.

 
Did I tell you I love the new foam ink pads?  This image was stamped on Naturals White Card Stock using the new Basic Black Ink Pad and I love how you can get a clear sharp image every time.  I added the Googly Eyes and then layered that on Basic Black Card Stock which was punched out using the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch. 

The background DSP is also new - it's the Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Catalog.  I embossed it using the Spider Web Embossing Folder.  I like the distressed look it gave the DSP.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set and I added rhinestones to give it a little bling.  You could have also added googles eyes to the O's in Booooo - that would have been cute!

Witch's Boot

I finally finished the video for the Witch's Boot using the Holiday Stocking Die.  In the video, I used the Pick your Poison Designer Series Paper for the buckles and I used the Vintage Wallpaper Vintage Embossing Folder instead the Spider Web Embossing Folder.

 

Out on a Limb

I'm working on the video for the Witch's Booth found here but due to technique difficulties, I have not been able to finish it!  That sound good?  No, the truth is I had my granddaughter  today and you cannot film a video with a little one around!  But I'll have it ready in a couple of days, I promise!

For today's card, I decided to use the Out On a Limb stamp Set.  Great for both kids and adults, this whimsical set features hanging bats, mustachioed pumpkins, and more!

I usually don't do whimsical cards, but this one captured my heart.  Yes, you will be seeing this a lot in the next couple of weeks.  I love the cat and little girl in this one.  And I think the mustached pumpkins are adorable!

I used the bats from the Wicked Cool Stamp Set  (my favorite from last year) for added creepy effect.

 

 The sentiment was made on My Digital Studio using the Piece of Poison Stamp Brush Set.

One of the things I like about the MDS and the Stamp Brush Sets is that you can make the sentiment or image any size you like.  In this case, I reduced it to fit the Word Window Punch.

Holiday Stocking

Tami White had the cutest witch's boot on her blog today using the Holiday Stocking Bigz L Die and I decided I would case it but change it up a little.  I paired the Pick Your Poisen Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Mini Catalog with Basic Black Card Stock for the shoe and Pumpkin Pie Card Stock for the buckles on the shoes.

 
I'll be making a video this weekend on how to put this cute, cute shoe together.

This is the last card that the ladies made at the Halloween class on Friday.  I love the Wicked Cool Stamp Set - it's the one I've used the most this Halloween.  It's a grab bag of creepy cool images.  This set includes anything you need to decorate the dark, dusty corners of any Halloween project.

 

While I was shopping at Wal-Mart the other day, I ran across this sweatshirt and bought it and I don't even celebrate Halloween very much but it was just too wicked cool!

Greeting Card Kids and another blog contest

Today's card is one the ladies will be making at Friday's class.  I simply adore this little girl from the Greeting Card Kids Stamp Set.  The cutesy image is right out of a vintage storybook.  The kind my Mother used to read to me (yes, I'm that old!).   My granddaughter Rachel loves the little girl and calls her Sophie!  I don't where she got the name  from but she seems to name a lot of dolls and stuffed animals Sophie.

 


The little girl was stamped with Basic Black and colored in using Stampin' Write Markers. For her face, I used Blush Blossom and Pretty in Pink for the cheeks.  Her dress is Rich Razzleberry.  The hat and cape are colored in using Basic Black and Old Olive for the leaves underneath the pumpkin.  The DSP is Wicked Fun Specialty and was layered using Rich Razzleberry Card Stock.  I used Black Lace Trim with a Rhinestone at the knot.  Oh, I almost forgot!  The background is the Spider Web Embossing Folder which was lightly inked with Whisper White Craft Ink.

Scary but edgy

Do you remember Tales from the Crypt?  Everytime I use this set, I remember the commercials for that series.  This stamp set (From the Crypt) is scary, edgy and artistic.  You can make so many Halloween projects with these four, very different images.  The skull is my favorite of all the images in this set.

The image was stamped in Basic Black Classic Ink and then I sponged with Elegant Eggplant around the skull.  The pattern paper is from Wicked Fun Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I used the Scallop Trim for a decorative edge in Elegant Eggplant and added the strip to the top of the DSP.  The sentiment  from All The Holidays, was stamped with Elegant Eggplant and layered with the same color card stock.  That's one of the reasons I love Stampin' Up! products - they all match!  Three Rhinestones (love those rhinestones!) completed the look. 

I forgot to mention before now that the stamp set for October is Vintage Labels.  It was last month's stamp set, but I forgot and gave away a $25.00 gift certificate to Karen Merritt instead.  All you have to do is place an online order (any amount) and your name will automatically be entered in the monthly contest.
