Pleasant Poppies

 Hi Stampin' Friends

 
Today's card features the Pleasant Poppies Clear Mount Stamp Set or at least part of that stamp set.  As you can see by this picture, I cut the set in half.  

I think I like it better this way.  I've used it only once as a background and I think I'll be able to use it more often this way.

The poppies were stamped with Versamark on Very Vanilla Card Stock and then Black Stampin Emboss Powder and set with the Heat Tool.

I used Riding Hood Red, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze Stampin' Pads and a blender pen to color in the poppies.  The center of the poppy was colored in using Daffodil Delight.

You can't see it in the picture but I double embossed the background.  I  saw this technique on Pinterest and decided to try it.  I first embossed the Very Vanilla Card Stock with the Striped Embossing Folder and then put it through the Big Shot again using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing folder.  I love the two combinations!  You can see the stripes in the raised areas of the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing.

Elegant Butterfly

Hi Stampin' Friends

I saw this technique on Pinterest (love that Pinterest!)  I'll have a video showing how to do the double embossing sometime next week because  I have a head cold and you don't want to hear my voice right now (LOL).

The Very Vanilla Card Stock was embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots and the Designer Frames Embossing Folders.  That was layered onto Floral District Designer Series Paper.  The butterfly is also from the same DSP and was punched out using the Elegant Butterfly Punch.

The sentiment is from the Bring on the Cake Stamp Brush Set and was printed out on Very Vanilla Card Stock and then die cut using the Bitty Banners Framelits.

The base card is Rose Red Card Stock.

Happy Birthday David

Hi Stampin' Friends It seems that for the first couple of months each year, I'm making birthday cards almost every day!  Today's card is for my hubby David.

I wanted to make a card that showed moonlight sailing.  I tried using the Sail Away stamp but I couldn't get it to come out right and you don't want to see my mistakes!  So I decided to do a search in google for an image that I could use.

When David and I lived in California we used to go moonlight sailing and it was so beautiful being out on the water with the moon shining on the ocean.   It was amazing how much you see out there!

The base card is Not Quite Navy which was embossed using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  The image was layered with Whisper White Card Stock, then Basic Black Card Stock.  The sentiment was printed out using My Digital Studio.

Swallowtail

Hi Stampin' Friends

The Swallowtail Clear Mount Stamp is a gorgeous plus size butterfly.

It's absolutely gorgeous when colored in and I hated to cut off part of the wings to make it fit the card.  

The image was stamped with Versamark on Naturals White Card Stock.  It was then embossed with the Black Stampin' Emboss Powder and set with the Heat Tool.

The butterfly was then colored in using a blender pen and So Saffron, More Mustard and Pacific Point Stampin' Write Markers.  I then cut it out with Paper Snips and added the non-SU blue diamonds to the body.

The Pacific Point Card Stock was embossed using the new Honeycomb Embossing Folder from the Spring Catalog.  The base card is Naturals White Card Stock.

The Open Sea - Masculine Monday

Hi Stampin' Friends

Hope you had a wonderful weekend.  My husband is off skiing so I'm enjoying a couple of days by myself!

This card is for my son-in-law Gary who lives out in California.  He has a beautiful view of the ocean from his house so I thought using the Open Sea Stamp Brush Set on his card would be perfect!

The image was printed on Very Vanilla Card Stock using the My Digital Studio.  I colored in the sea in Island Indigo using the coloring tool in MDS2.  The background DSP is the Fan Fair Designer Series Paper and I love the sheet with the world atlas in muted colors.  The base card is Island Indigo Card Stock.

Layered Labels

Hi Stampin' Friends

I never would have thought of using the color Summer Starfruit but it was one of the coordinating colors in the Pool Party Designer Series Paper.

The sentiment is from the Layered Labels Clear Mount Stamp Set.  The four-piece set coordinates with the Large Oval Punch, 1" Circle Punch, and our Apothecary Accent Framelits Dies.

The image was stamped with Starfruit Classic Stampin' Pad on Whisper White Card Stock and then die cut with the Apothecary accent Framelits Die.

The Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon was colored using the Summer Starfruit Stampin' Write Marker.  I then distressed the ends with the Paper Piercing Tool.

I didn't use our 5/8" Flower Trim because those roses are off-white and too much of a contrast between the Whisper White and Very Vanilla.  I used the roses from my "secret" stash and brushed the ends lightly with the Starfruit stampin Write Marker.

Everybunny

Hi Stampin' Friends

This has to be one of the cutest stamp sets in the annual catalog.  It's called Everybunny and I love all the animal images in it.  It has four fluffy bunnies, three matching mushrooms, two cute chicks, and one egg-stra special egg plant.

The bunny image was stamped on Watercolor Paper with Jet Black Stazon. I then colored in the image with an aqua painter and Marina Mist, Soft Suede, Pretty in Pink and Old Olive Classic Stampin' Pads.

To get the top die cut, I used the Labels Collection Framelits and only fed the watercolor paper through the Big Shot about 1/4 of the way.  Then I reversed it.  I then cut the sides and bottom out with my amazing new trimmer!

The smooth & sassy Marina Mist 3/8" Striped Organdy Ribbon is from the Spring Catalog.

Vintage Verses

Punxsutawney's Phil predicts spring will come early this year.  So let's celebrate with a spring like card featuring the Vintage Verses Clear Mount Stamp Set available only during Sale-a-bration.  Coordinates beautifully with the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper.

The base card is Island Indigo Card Stock and the doily is from the Artisan Embellishments Kit from the Spring Catalog.

The roses are still part of the stash I discovered when we moved last year and the Olive Satin String Leaves I ordered from an online store.

The sentiment is from the Vintage Verses Clear Mount stamp Set and was stamped on Whisper White Card with Island Ingo Classic ink.  It was then die cut using the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies.

Today's card features the Vine Street Embossing Folder that you can get FREE for your $50.00 purchase during Sale-a-bration.

I was trying to keep it clean and simple but I kept wanting to add pearls or rhinestones to add a little bling!(LOL)

I colored the image (from Bordering on Romance) with Raspberry Ripple and Gumball Green Stampin' Write Markers and a Blender Pen and then stamped it on Whisper White Card Stock. 

The base card is Naturals White Card Stock that was embossed using the Vine Street Embossing Folder.

This is one of the cards the ladies will be making at Friday's class.  It features the Nature Walk Clear Mount Stamp Set.

I've lost a lot of things in my craft and then they always mysteriously reappear!  Has this every happened to you?  I cannot find my Elegant Eggplant Ink Pad but I'm sure it will turn up.  I had to color in the bird cage with my Elegant Eggplant Stampin' Write Marker.

The leaves were colored in using the Always Artichoke Stampin' Write Marker and the flowers in Elegant Eggplant.  I then stamped it in three random places on Very Vanilla Card Stock.  The top and bottom was embossed using the Needlepoint Border Embossing Folder and then sponged with Soft Suede Classic Ink.  The butterfly is from the Papillon Potpourri Clear Mount Stamp Set.

The used the Open Sea Stamp Brush Set and printed it out on Very Vanilla Card Stock using the My Digital Studio 2.  Love that program!

The base card is Early Espresso Card Stock layered with Very Vanilla Card stock which was embossed using the Argyle Embossing Folder.  I then sponged it with Early Espresso Classic Ink.  The ribbon is the 1/8 Early Espresso Taffeta Ribbon.

I used the Feels Good Clear Mount Stamp Set again for today's card. 

 

For the background I added the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper.  Love this paper with it's vintage look.  I also used the roses from the Artisan Embellishment Kit  - aren't they beautiful?   I do hope the roses are sold separately in the new catalog when it comes out in July.  I love the lace and paper roses in this kit and want to hoard them instead of use them!  Do you ever feel that way about a certain item?

The leaves are also from the same DSP and were punched out using the Bird Punch.

I spritzed the upper left and lower right with the Lucky Limeade Stampin' Write Marker and Color Spritzer Tool.

Today's card features the Feels Good Clear Mount Stamp Set from the Spring catalog.  Bring a little sunshine to those you love with these "feel good" sayings.  My favorite one in this set is the "Friend" sentiment which I used below.

 Th dsp is from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack on Page 16 of the Spring catalog.  The dsp layered with Very Vanilla Card Stock was was embossed with Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.  The base card is Raspberry Ripple Card Stock.

I made the flowers using the Boho Blossom Punch.  I added a small dab of Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Diamonds Glitter Glue to the center of the flower.

The sentiment was stamped with Raspberry Ripple Classic Ink on Very vanilla Card Stock and then die cut with the Labels Collection Framelits.

Happy 50th Anniversary!

Today's card is for a very dear friend, Diana, that I've known since high school.  The card is for her and Wayne's 50th wedding anniversary.

I decided to break open the Artisan Embellishment Kit from the spring Catalog and use the abolutely gorgeous lace that's in it.  It's the most beautiful lace that Stampin' Up! has every offered (that I know of) and I absolutely, unconditionally, categorically, totally, love it!

I also used the flowers from the 5/8" flower trim.  I sponged them lightly on the ends with Soft Suede Classic Ink.  The leaves, from the bird punch, were also sponged on the ends with Soft Suede Classic Ink.

The background is Very Vanilla Card Stock which was embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder and then layered on Brushed Gold Card Stock.

Beautiful Birthday and blog candy winner

Today's cards features the single stamp called Beautiful Birthday.  Sometimes all you need is a sweet and simple birthday stamp--and this is it! Use it to make cards in advance--so you're always ready with handmade birthday greetings for those you love.

I used the Mojo Monday sketch for this card and it was so much easier using a premade sketch than to try and figure out what looks good.   Do you know of any other blogs that have sketches?

The background paper is from the Spring Catalog and is called Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack.  I used one of the flowers from the 5/8" Flower Trim.  This is quickly becoming one of my favorite accessories - love the dimensional flowers.

The leaves are from the Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack and were punched out using the Bird Punch.

Feeling Sentimental

As I've said before, it's so hard for me to make a masculine card so I decided to resurrect my "Masculine Mondays".  Maybe I'll get better as I get into the habit of making them. 

I have two brothers who share the same birthday - February 7th.  I made the first card here for the oldest of the two.  This card is for my younger brother, Bobby.

Again, I used the Feeling Sentimental Stamp Set.  I love this set because it is vintage and you know I love vintage!

The background paper is the Fan Fair Designer Series Paper from the annual catalog.  Other than, it's a simple card and easy to make.

Hi Stampin' Friends

I'm using Oh Hello Stamp Set for today's card.  Doesn't it just scream Spring?

This set has bold designs and striking patterns. The wow factor is so easy to achieve with this amazing seven-piece set and it coordinates with our Ovals Collection Framelits Dies.

 

 

 

I love the gorgeous new 5/8" Flower Trim in the Spring Catalog.  Its vintage dimensional flowers on strips of tulle.  You can either use them on a strip like I did on this card.  Or you can use them individually like in today's post.

I stamped the sentiment in Indigo Island on Very Vanilla Card Stock.  I love how the words look 3 dimensional.

 

 

 

The designer paper is the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper from the Spring Catalog.  I am going to stock on up this paper - it is so beautiful!
